Publishing Associate
Job Description:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Publishing Associate who is excited about learning every stage of publishing from manuscript prep to launch.
This junior role supports our CEO and COO with operations, editorial, marketing, and publishing workflow.
You’ll work closely with the CEO and COO, gaining hands-on exposure to how a professional publishing house operates, but in the fast-paced, nimble world of self-publishing.
Responsibilities:
Support project and schedule management for multiple titles, track deadlines, coordinate tasks, maintain calendars, and deliverable checklists.
Executive Support: manage calendars, inboxes, meeting minutes, project logs, and author records.
Communicate with freelance editors, designers, and external vendors, handle communications, deliverables, and workflows.
Serve as a professional point of contact for authors and help facilitate support throughout the publishing process.
Maintain accurate internal documentation (spreadsheets, digital assets, project logs, and author records).
The Fine Print:
- Honed organizational skills for calendar management, deadlines, multiple concurrent projects, and shifting priorities.

Ability to correspond clearly and professionally with authors, freelancers, and internal leadership

Experience with productivity tools such as Google Workspace, spreadsheets, project management tools (Asana, etc.).

A hard-working, inspired, detail-oriented, go-getter who is motivated to grow within our organization.

Ability to work independently and remotely while staying responsive and collaborative with leadership during business operating hours
Bonus / Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with the publishing industry (trade publishing or self-publishing)
- Customer service experience

Book Designer
Job Description:
TSPA is looking for a freelance professional to design covers and interiors for professionally published books. Designers must have:
- Experience producing professional book covers and interiors in a variety of genres.
- Experience typesetting manuscripts
- Worked with file preparation for Amazon’s KDP and other printers
- Interest in working collaboratively with editors, other designers and indie-authors
- Ability to explain detailed design concepts to clients and team members who do not “speak design”
The Fine Print:
- 3 years experience minimum -or- has been the principal designer of 6 published books
- Role is remote
- Paid in CAD on a per-project basis

Children’s Book Illustrator
Job Description:
TSPA is looking for a freelance illustrator to illustrate characters and scenes for professionally published books. Illustrators must have:
- Experience illustrating characters and scenes for children’s books
- Have a basic understanding of typesetting and it’s applications in book publishing
- Worked with file preparation for Amazon’s KDP and other printers
- Interest in working collaboratively with editors, other designers and indie-authors
- Ability to explain detailed design concepts to clients and team members who do not “speak design”
- Enjoy translating a client’s creative vision onto the page
The Fine Print:
- 3 years experience minimum -or- has been the principal designer of 4 published books
- Role is remote
- Paid in CAD on a per-project basis
