Waiting for Rainbows

“I had looked up into the sky at that shooting star — I had blown out the candles on that birthday cake — and made my wish. And I felt like if I told anyone, my wish wouldn’t come true.”

When Ashley met Cal, there were instant sparks. They were married within a few short years and Ashley was so excited to start a family together. But life showed her that things don’t always go as planned.

Waiting for Rainbows is the Berry family’s story of hope. What began as a struggle with infertility turned into a lifelong lesson through loss and adoption: that family wouldn’t come as easily as they thought, and that they’d have to fight through grief and pain to finally see their rainbow.

To anyone out there going through infertility or waiting for The Call, the Berry family’s story will remind you to never lose hope. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. You will find your rainbow.

Ashley Berry lives in North Dakota with her husband and their two adopted children. They operate a family-run greenhouse and a pumpkin patch and corn maze in the fall every year. Ashley also has a degree in photography and enjoys capturing a birth story in her spare time. She has seen firsthand the devastating journey of infertility for couples and individuals alike and hopes her story will encourage and remind each person to keep striving and to live in hope as you wait for your rainbow.
